The second quarter century
Today begins the second quarter century of admiring Sandinista!, which brings me to the following news clip:
I subscribe to a Google Alert that tells me every time a new piece appears on the Net with the words "Clash" and "Sandinista." Most of the relevant ones I've been posting here. Over the weekend, I received this one:

... "It's a nasty habit, I know," he says, over the sounds of the Clash's 1980 record "Sandinista" spinning on a vintage turntable in his Westside living room. ...
Well, I'm intrigued. It's behind a pay wall, I don't want to subscribe to the newspaper for a year to read only one story, and Nexis, which I pay good money to subscribe to, doesn't index that newspaper. So ... do we have any readers in Santa Barbara?
